Remarks:
Bark beetles of the family Colydiidae are characterized by their elongated, cylindrical bodies and often heavily sclerotized elytra. Many species live under bark or in dead wood and are predatory, feeding on other insect larvae. Fossil specimens are usually small but remarkably well preserved—reflecting their hidden lifestyle in wood microhabitats.
