Inclusion: Gelastocoridae (Toad Bug)

  • Size Nemopteridae: 3.6 mm

  • Amber Size: 15 x 11 x 1 mm

  • Location: Myanmar

  • Age: approx. 100–110 million years (Cretaceous period)

  • Special Characteristics: Toad Bugs lived exclusively aquatic lifestyles during the Cretaceous period. Their flattened bodies and adaptations such as swimming hairs on their legs highlight their specialization for life in water. Fossil specimens are extremely rare, as aquatic organisms were only preserved in amber under exceptional conditions.
