Inclusion: Lagonomegopidae ✝

  • Inclusion Size: 4.5 mm, with legs: 10.5 mm

  • Amber Size: 20 x 16 x 6 mm

  • Location: Myanmar

  • Age: approx. 100–110 million years (Cretaceous period)

  • Special Characteristics: The Lagonomegopidae, an extinct family of spiders, were characterized by their large, laterally positioned eyes, which provided excellent peripheral vision. They were ambush predators that relied on their visual perception to spot prey in their habitat—similar to modern jumping spiders.
